Tria Adds XRP Ledger for Card Top-Ups and Trading Accounts

Tria now accepts XRP, RLUSD and USDC on the native XRP Ledger. The balance can pay for a Tria Card booking, top up an existing card or fund a futures trading account on Hyperliquid or Decibel, without a manual swap or bridge first.

Only the native XRP Ledger network is supported

Deposits have to arrive over the native XRP Ledger. XRP sent over BNB Chain, Ethereum or the XRPL EVM sidechain is not supported by this integration, and a transfer on the wrong network can be lost. Exchange withdrawal screens that list several XRP networks are where this mistake is easiest to make.

Part of the first deposit stays locked as a reserve

A new XRP Ledger account needs at least 1 XRP to activate; a smaller first payment is rejected. After activation the network keeps 1 XRP locked as a reserve, plus 0.2 XRP for each enabled token, so 1.4 XRP with both RLUSD and USDC enabled. The reserve stays in the account and is not a Tria fee, but it cannot be moved to the card. A first deposit of 2 XRP, the amount Tria recommends, leaves about 0.6 XRP free once both tokens are enabled. Every XRP Ledger transaction also costs a network fee of around 0.00001 XRP, paid in XRP even when the asset sent is RLUSD or USDC.

Top-ups show a guaranteed minimum before confirmation

Card and trading top-ups show an estimated amount and a guaranteed minimum before confirmation, so the credited amount depends on a conversion rather than being fixed one for one. A top-up that moves funds between networks usually takes 1 to 3 minutes, against 3 to 5 seconds for a plain XRP Ledger transfer.

For holders without assets on the XRP Ledger the route adds little: buying XRP only to top up the card would leave at least 1 XRP locked as a reserve.
