MetaMask Money Account: up to 6% APY until November 12
MetaMask Money Account offers up to 6% APY on mUSD balances until November 12, followed by up to 4%. Both rates are variable and not guaranteed.
The account is free to open and has no minimum balance requirement. Users can spend directly from the Money Account with MetaMask Card, which is provided by regulated third-party partners.
At 6%, $1,000 in mUSD earns at most about $5 a month; after November 12, at 4%, the same balance earns at most about $3.33. Money spent with MetaMask Card leaves the Money Account at the moment of purchase and stops earning from then on.
Availability varies by region. Yield comes from third-party DeFi protocols. The Money Account is not a bank account, and its balance is not insured.
