Krak US Cashback Tiers Now Require Up to $150,000

Krak Card now has a US reward table that starts paying cashback at $1,000 in 30-day average assets and reaches 2% at $150,000. The thresholds apply across Krak, Kraken and Kraken Pro. The US schedule needs to be evaluated separately from the GBP and EUR tiers.

As checked on 17 October 2026, the US bands are:

  • Starter: below $1,000, with 0% cashback.
  • Lite: at least $1,000, with 1% cashback.
  • Pro: at least $10,000, with 1.5% cashback.
  • Elite: at least $75,000, with 1.75% cashback.
  • Max: at least $150,000, with 2% cashback.

A higher balance band buys a small incremental reward

At $2,000 of eligible monthly spending, Pro would earn $30, Elite $35 and Max $40. Moving from the Pro threshold to the Elite threshold requires $65,000 more in average assets for $5 more cashback on that spending; moving from Elite to Max requires another $75,000 for another $5. These figures compare the reward bands, not the return on the assets held.

Someone already maintaining the required assets can assess the card using their actual band. Moving assets solely for the spending reward requires a separate assessment of custody, liquidity and opportunity cost; the top card rate alone does not settle those questions.

Depositing today does not instantly establish the average

Krak spreads a deposit's contribution across 30 days. Its example starts with a $1,000 average and adds $300: the average rises by $10 on the first day, reaches $1,150 on day 15 and $1,300 on day 30 if nothing else changes. A balance briefly crossing a threshold therefore does not establish the corresponding cashback tier.

This also makes a one-time top-up a poor proxy for the reward on a purchase that is about to settle. Before estimating cashback, check the displayed reward tier and average-assets figure, rather than the current balance alone. Card authorization can show an expected reward; payout follows merchant settlement.
