Altitude Adds Automatic Card Top-Ups With a 30-Day Limit

Altitude now supports automatic top-ups for its shared Cards balance. A business chooses a funding source, a minimum balance that triggers a transfer, a refill balance to restore, and a limit on automatic transfers over 30 days. Setup suggestions use the previous 30 days of card spending.

The rule goes through the business's existing approval flow. Once approved, transfers within the rule do not need separate approval. Dedicated virtual cards can still have their own spending limits; the automatic refill controls the shared balance behind them.

A card limit and a refill limit constrain different things. A subscription may sit within its virtual card's spending allowance yet fail because the shared balance is low and the automatic transfer budget has already been used. Raising the refill balance does not remove that 30-day ceiling.

Top-ups also depend on funds being available at the selected source. If funding cannot proceed, Altitude notifies the card administrator. Automation therefore helps with routine balance management, but it cannot make an unfunded account cover a renewal.

For teams running subscriptions, cloud bills or advertising campaigns, compare the shared balance and remaining automatic transfer allowance with upcoming charges. Teams requiring approval for every transfer should check whether rule-level approval matches their spending controls.
