Sovrae Virtual Adds Higher Limits and a $29 Upgrade
Sovrae has introduced a new Virtual card at $89, with spending limits up to $80,000 per transaction and $1M a day. Existing Virtual holders are offered an upgrade for $29 through 31 October.
The upgrade price is $60 below buying the new card for $89. That is a difference in acquisition cost, not a credit toward spending. Someone whose current card already handles their payments needs a reason to use the new version's capabilities before treating that difference as a saving.
Sovrae also lists a fixed fee as low as $0.10, plus 1.5%, a Singapore BIN, and a foreign-exchange spread up to 2% cheaper. The spread claim is a relative improvement, not an absolute 2% exchange fee. The fee expression alone does not establish every charge or its calculation base, so it cannot support an all-in cost estimate.
The public card page still lists the older Virtual limits of $20,000 per transaction and $250K daily. New and existing versions therefore need separate checks. Before paying for an upgrade, confirm the selected card's fee schedule, conversion quote and limits; a higher ceiling or different BIN does not guarantee acceptance by a particular subscription merchant.
