Solid Raises Prime to 70,000 FUSE and Ultra to 600,000
Solid is moving the locked-token requirement for Prime from 50,000 to 70,000 FUSE and for Ultra from 400,000 to 600,000 FUSE. Those are increases of 40% and 50% in token quantity, respectively.
Solid extended the lower amounts by 48 hours, until the end of 13 October UTC, and locks made before that cutoff keep the lower qualifying amount for 12 months. That protection describes the amount needed for the tier; it does not by itself establish a 12-month lock duration or a fixed dollar price.
The distinction follows from the unit used. An unchanged FUSE requirement can cost a different dollar amount as the token price moves, while a higher token requirement increases the quantity committed even before considering price changes. Solid says locked FUSE remains at the user's address, which should not be confused with tokens remaining freely transferable while locked. Solid lists returns of up to $1,200 a year for Prime and up to $2,400 a year for Ultra; both figures are caps, so the locked quantity pays back in full only at the spending level that reaches them.
For someone evaluating a Solid tier, compare the required quantity with the benefits they would actually use and the applicable unlock conditions. After the cutoff, a new lock needs 70,000 FUSE for Prime or 600,000 FUSE for Ultra.
