Solid Adds Backup Passkeys and Device Management
Solid now brings passkey management together under Settings → Security → Passkeys. Users can add a backup passkey, view and name each login device, and delete passkeys they no longer use. These controls help manage access to the account connected to the Solid Card.
Solid says the passkey's private key stays in the device keychain and Solid never has it. That statement concerns the login passkey specifically. It does not describe an on-chain wallet's seed phrase or asset keys. Removing a login credential is not evidence that the keys controlling assets have been rotated.
A backup helps only if it provides a working route back into the account. Before removing an old credential, add the backup and verify that it can sign in on a second device. Giving a device a recognisable name makes the list easier to manage, but the name alone does not prove that recovery has been tested successfully.
If the old passkey is removed while the backup cannot complete a login, the device list will not supply a working replacement. These controls therefore do not guarantee that losing a phone can never lock someone out. Keep a credential if it is still the only tested way into the card account.
