Solid Euro Cards Add EURC With Full-Payment Fallback

Solid has enabled euro spending for cards issued by Wirex; Rain-issued cards are not included yet. After enabling EURC spending on the card page, users can send EURC on Base to their Solid wallet address, not a vault address. Deposits are free, and a euro purchase covered by the euro balance is charged 1:1. Other-currency purchases retain their existing conversion fees.

The euro balance must cover the entire purchase. With €99.99 available for a €100 purchase, Solid does not combine the euro balance with a dollar top-up: the full €100 goes to the dollar balance with the usual exchange fee. Credit mode with enough soUSD instead covers the purchase without that fee, subject to collateral and borrowing terms. A small balance shortfall can therefore change the cost of a large purchase, not just the missing €0.01.

Refunds return to the dollar balance as USDC at the original purchase rate, net of cashback. They do not refill EURC, so after a return the euro balance is smaller than before the purchase, and the next euro payment is more likely to fall short and switch to dollars. Euro bank transfers also land in the dollar balance, which leaves EURC on Base as the only way to top up the euro side; euro yield is not live yet. For Solid Card holders who spend mostly in euros, keeping the euro balance above the largest expected purchase avoids the full-amount switch, while a merchant that charges in another currency is converted with the usual fee either way.
