Rain and Oobit Give AI Purchases Single-Use Cards
Rain and Oobit now enable AI-assisted purchases with stablecoin-funded cards. Each approved purchase receives 1 single-use card, with spending limits and optional merchant restrictions. Oobit requires the user to approve every payment before money moves.
The card cannot be reused for another purchase. That limits credential reuse if an agent retains the payment details: approval of one purchase does not give it an enduring card credential for later spending. It still leaves the user responsible for checking the requested purchase and amount before approval.
Oobit supports Muse, Grok Bot and Dots, while Instinct is still marked as coming soon. That affects which assistant can use the payment route today. Payments work where the supported cards are accepted online; a spending limit does not guarantee acceptance by every merchant.
This model fits users who want an assistant to complete specific purchases while keeping payment approval with them. It does not fit an unattended workflow that expects permission once and recurring purchases thereafter. Check the amount and merchant for each request, and verify whether a merchant restriction is actually enabled rather than assuming that an optional control is always applied.
