Plasma One Opens to Everyone, and Adds an Invite Tier
Plasma One is now open to everyone. Plasma said so on 23 September and pointed at a signup link; the product site now offers the app directly, with no queue in front of it.
Sign-up order stops being the constraint
Access queues shape a product's early months in a specific way: the referral programme, the invite codes and the spending credits attached to them all exist partly to ration and partly to recruit. Plasma One has run several of those, and they have been worth reading closely because the rewards were the price of scarcity.
With general availability, an invite code is no longer a way in. Whatever value a code still carries has to come from the reward terms themselves, not from access, and those terms are the thing to compare — a code that moves a sign-up forward by nothing is worth exactly its payout.
Country eligibility is decided in the app, not in the announcement
"Open to everyone" is a statement about the waitlist. Plasma did not restate which countries can open an account, what verification the sign-up requires, or which cards are available where, so none of that can be read out of this post. The card spends wherever Visa is accepted across 180+ countries, but where a card can be issued is a separate question with a separate answer, and the app is where it gets answered.
Anyone treating today as the first chance to try it should expect the account-opening flow to set the real boundary.
Aurora goes the other direction on the same day
Hours after opening the front door, Plasma introduced Aurora, described as a concierge and lifestyle operating system for Plasma One, and said it is rolling out to select users by invitation only.
That is a familiar shape rather than a contradiction: the base account becomes universally available at the moment a layer above it becomes exclusive. Plasma has not published what Aurora includes or what qualifies a user for it, so it is a name and a gate for now. For everyone else, the thing that changed is that the card is orderable without waiting.
