Plasma One 10% Eight Sleep Boost Caps at $300 or $150
Plasma One is paying 10% back on Eight Sleep purchases from 00:00 UTC on 26 September to 23:59:59 UTC on 9 October 2026. Only Platinum accounts are in it, the rate is the same for everyone who qualifies, and the cap is where the two groups separate.
The newcomer's cap is double the existing member's
An account that unlocks Platinum during the boost period is capped at $300 of boosted cashback. An account that already held Platinum when the period opened is capped at $150. At 10%, that is $3,000 of qualifying Eight Sleep spend against $1,500. There is no minimum spend and no per-transaction cap, so a single order can use the whole allowance.
Which group an account falls into is fixed at the start of the period by Plasma's records. Adding to an existing lock, re-locking, or opening a second card account does not move an existing Platinum holder into the higher band, and all cards under one account share one cap. The offer is also closed to residents of the United Kingdom.
Platinum costs a twelve-month XPL lock with no early release
Unlocking Platinum means locking XPL for twelve months, released only at maturity. The terms say plainly not to lock XPL for the boost unless a total loss of the locked amount is tolerable. That is the real price of the extra $150 of headroom: a year of exposure to a volatile asset, against a cap that expires on 9 October.
For anyone already at Platinum, the decision is smaller. The lock is a sunk cost and the offer is an extra $150 ceiling on spending that was either happening or not.
The hold runs from capture, and a trial return voids the accrual
Boosted cashback accrues in dollars, is held for 30 days after the transaction is captured, and is paid in XPL once Plasma's review clears. The hold does not track the order, shipment or delivery date. A return, refund, reversal, cancellation or chargeback during those 30 days voids the accrual, and the terms name Eight Sleep's own trial and return policy as one way that happens.
That combination is worth reading twice before ordering. A purchase made to collect the boost sits inside two overlapping clocks: the 30-day hold, and whatever return window came with the product. Sending it back inside the return window cancels the cashback, and a return that lands after payment lets Plasma claw the reward back at the dollar amount accrued rather than the market value of the XPL it paid.
Only a purchase settled to an Eight Sleep descriptor qualifies
The purchase has to be made directly from Eight Sleep and settle to a merchant descriptor Plasma recognises. Retailers, marketplaces and resellers are out, and so is any third-party payment, financing or buy-now-pay-later service, including one offered at Eight Sleep's own checkout. Merchant category codes do not decide the question. Gift cards, e-gift cards and store credit earn nothing, and neither does the portion of a transaction paid with any tender other than the card.
Timing follows the authorization, not the order. Payment has to be authorized inside the boost period and, for a new Platinum account, after the unlock has taken effect in Plasma's records. Placing or reserving an order during the window does not help if the authorization falls outside it.
The boosted rate replaces the ordinary rate
The 10% applies instead of the base or category rate on the same transaction, and the ordinary rate resumes once the cap is reached or the period ends. The aggregate cap sits outside the monthly tier cap, though Eight Sleep spending still counts toward monthly qualifying spend. Where a transaction could qualify under two boosts at once, only one applies and Plasma decides which, the same rule that applied when the Apple boost overlapped the Dyson one earlier in September.
One number in the announcement belongs to a different program. Alongside the boost, Plasma is advertising $300 in credit for each new Platinum member invited. The boost terms state that the boost is not a referral reward and that any referral bonus is governed separately, so the $300 referral figure and the $300 new-Platinum cap are two different amounts under two different sets of conditions. Plasma also states that the Help Center controls over the published terms on any rate, amount, limit or date, which makes the in-app figures the ones that decide.
