Bitget Wallet Adds Local Stablecoins to Card Funding
Bitget Wallet has added local stablecoins to its onchain checkout flow for card top-ups and scan-to-pay. The rollout illustrates 7 assets: MXNB, BRLA, BRL1, ZCHF, ZARP, IDRX and AUDD. Users holding a supported asset can enter the payment flow without first arranging a separate conversion themselves.
That shortens the steps between a local-currency stablecoin balance and spending. It does not establish that the card maintains a separate balance in each of those currencies or settles purchases in the original token. Funding, conversion and merchant settlement are distinct stages: accepting a local stablecoin at the first stage does not establish whether conversion is still required later in the route.
Bitget Wallet has not specified the asset-by-network matrix, conversion charges or regional availability for this rollout. Someone holding a matching ticker on a different network cannot assume it will work; the supported combination must match both the asset and its network. The map of stablecoin currencies also does not establish where a person can apply for the card or which local QR payment systems are supported.
For a user who already holds one of these assets, compare the input amount with the amount to be credited to the card or paid to the merchant before confirming. That quote determines whether the integrated route costs less than converting separately. Users without a supported balance gain no automatic saving from the shorter workflow.
