Tangem Pay Adds Contactless ATM Withdrawals
Tangem Pay has added ATM withdrawals in Tangem Wallet 6.2. The feature turns the virtual Visa card into a phone-tap cash option: an eligible user adds the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay, uses a contactless-enabled ATM, and the withdrawal is deducted from the Tangem Pay USDC balance. Until this update, Tangem describes the card as virtual-only for Visa merchant payments.
The practical boundary is easy to miss. This is not a plastic-card launch, and it does not make every ATM usable. Tangem says physical cards are still unavailable; the ATM needs contactless support, and the virtual card shown in Apple Pay or Google Pay must carry the required Visa Platinum or Signature label. Cards issued before March 10, 2026 may need to be reissued in the app before ATM withdrawals work.
The current terms also make cash meaningfully different from ordinary card spend. Tangem lists a maximum of $250 per withdrawal and three withdrawals per 24 hours. Its official update lists a 2% withdrawal fee on Plus and 4% on Basic, charged on top of the cash received. A $100 withdrawal therefore deducts $102 on Plus or $104 on Basic. The help center lists Syria, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine, and Venezuela as unavailable for ATM withdrawals.
For a Tangem Pay user, this adds an off-ramp-like fallback without first sending USDC to an exchange or bank. It is most useful when a contactless ATM is available and the fee is acceptable for the amount needed. It is a poor fit for repeated small cash withdrawals: the percentage fee and three-per-day cap make it a convenience feature, not a low-cost cash-access route.
One detail needs checking in the app before relying on it. Tangem's general Tangem Pay product page still says ATM withdrawals are unavailable, while the newer 6.2 update and help center document the rollout and terms. The newer pages are the stronger evidence of the change, but card label, app version, country, and ATM capability remain transaction-time conditions.
