Plasma One Platinum cards move beyond phone wallets

Plasma posted that Platinum physical cards are here. The product page also presents physical cards beside virtual cards, which makes the update directly relevant to card use rather than only wallet UX.

Physical cards cover different failure cases

A physical card matters when a phone is out of battery, a terminal does not support contactless wallets, or a merchant wants a card presented at the desk. Virtual cards remain faster to issue, but they do not cover every real-world checkout.

Platinum terms still matter more than the object

Plasma One separates Lite, Core and Platinum tiers. The product page lists 4% base cashback, 10% AI cashback, no added fees, VIP support and flight cashback language for Platinum, while the rewards addendum says tier benefits and card-account limits are governed by program terms.

The checks worth doing before calling it an upgrade

The practical checks are eligibility, delivery, replacement fees, regional availability, reward caps and whether Apple Pay or Google Pay already solves the same use case. A physical card is strongest as a travel and fallback tool.
