Moto Is Adding a $50/Month Membership Below Its $250 Tier
Moto, an invite-based crypto card built around a single $250-a-month membership, is adding a cheaper way in. Starting next month, a new Lite tier will cost $50 a month alongside the existing $250 membership, which stays unchanged for anyone who wants the full version.
The two tiers are not the same product at different prices — they trade on different terms. Moto's current $250 membership carries zero foreign-exchange fees globally, 1x points on purchases with 3x on dining and retail and 5x on travel, and points redeemable for flights, hotels, or up to $200 a month in statement credits, on top of lounge access and a dedicated relationship manager. Lite drops the FX-fee waiver — foreign-currency purchases will carry an FX fee — flattens the points multiplier to 1x on everything except 2x on travel and dining, and caps statement-credit redemption at $50 a month instead of $200.
For someone who mainly wants Moto's approval and card-issuance flow without the travel perks, Lite is a materially different cost structure, not a discount on the same benefits. Anyone whose spending is heavy on travel or cross-border purchases loses more in FX fees and multiplier than the $200 monthly saving covers once volume gets high enough — Lite is built for lighter, mostly-domestic spend, not as a cut-price version of the full membership.
Moto has not published exact billing details for the Lite launch beyond the tier terms above, and the tier was not yet listed on Moto's own site at the time of writing — it is described as arriving "starting next month." Anyone considering it should check moto-card.com directly before applying, since invite-only access means terms can be confirmed only once a waitlist spot opens.
