Krak Card: Virtual, Plastic or Metal
Krak is free to order and carries no monthly or annual fee, so the choice between formats is not a pricing decision the way it is on cards that charge for the metal tier.
The virtual card starts faster; the physical one covers what a phone cannot
The virtual card is issued immediately and works online and, once added to a phone wallet, at contactless terminals. It is the fastest way to start and costs nothing.
A physical card adds the things a phone cannot do: ATM withdrawals, terminals without contactless, and situations where you have to hand a card to someone. Kraken added a stainless steel version in March 2026 for people who want the object.
Cashback follows your balance tier, not the format you carry
Cashback is set by your balance tier, not by which piece of plastic or metal you carry. Fees, limits and the assets you can spend from are the same. Choosing metal does not buy a better rate here, which is a meaningful difference from cards where the premium tier and the premium rate are the same product.
Practical order
Start with the virtual card, order a physical one if you want cash access or a backup that survives a dead phone, and treat the metal version as an aesthetic preference rather than a financial one.
