Gnosis Pay Is Shutting Down Its Own Web App
Gnosis Pay published a post on September 3 titled "The Next Era," announcing that it is closing out its own consumer-facing product. The web app that lets someone sign up directly with Gnosis Pay and use a Gnosis Card will be discontinued by the end of the year. After that, a Gnosis Pay card only exists inside a partner's app.
That is the end of a two-year shift rather than a sudden reversal. Gnosis Pay went from issuing crypto's first self-custodial Visa card to running the infrastructure other companies build cards on — an enterprise platform live since earlier this year, already powering partners such as Picnic, Zeal and MiniPay. The web app is the last consumer-facing leftover, the one route that never went through a partner. Once it goes, no direct path to Gnosis Pay remains.
Migrating brings instant withdrawals, instant reversals and daily batched settlement
Gnosis Pay lists concrete improvements tied to the new platform, not just a rebrand: instant withdrawals instead of the current security delay, instant reversals instead of waiting out the Visa refund cycle, and fewer declined payments. Settlement also moves from per-transaction to batched once a day, which is a privacy change — a daily batch cannot be timed or mapped the way a live per-transaction feed can.
None of it arrives automatically. A partner has to migrate onto the new platform first, and Gnosis Pay says updates will follow over the coming weeks as each one does. Fees, rewards and support terms are set by the partner rather than by Gnosis Pay, so what a card looks like afterwards depends on which app someone lands in.
Rebind is the first confirmed destination, with a short bonus window
For EUR, USD and CHF balances, Gnosis Pay points web app users at Rebind, named as one of the first partners confirmed to move onto the new platform. Rebind is offering up to €100 to anyone who migrates from the Gnosis Pay web app by September 9 — five days after the announcement. Miss it and the card still works through Rebind, just without the bonus.
Accounts do not carry over between partners, and they stop being one-per-person. Someone can hold a Rebind account, a MiniPay account and a Picnic account at once, each with its own card, instead of a single Gnosis Pay identity tied to one card.
Gnosis Card volume passed roughly $200M in tracked spend in August, so this is an established issuer restructuring how anyone holds a card on top of it, not a small program winding down quietly. For a current web app user the task is picking a partner app before the shutdown rather than waiting to see what happens: Gnosis Pay has not said the web app will work past the end of the year, and the incentive window on the first confirmed partner is already short.
