Application restrictions come first

Merchant restrictions are separate

A card can be open in one country and still fail at a merchant that blocks crypto-linked cards, prepaid cards, certain BINs or certain business categories. Travel platforms and financial merchants are common places to check carefully.

Test with one purchase and keep a backup method

Before a trip, make one normal purchase, keep another payment method and avoid assuming a virtual card will solve cash-heavy situations.
