Gate Card cashback points are not a simple reward rate
Gate Card's most visible number is up to 8% cashback. The important detail is that Gate Card rewards are issued as points, not as immediate cash on every purchase.
Gate's points system runs from T0 to T5. The rate can rise from 1% to 8%, and the tier depends on VIP level or monthly card spending. That makes the headline possible, but only under the right account and spending conditions.
The cap matters as much as the rate
A high rate with a small cap behaves differently from a lower rate with a larger usable range. Gate's card data shows monthly points caps by tier, with the top tier reaching 40,000 points, equivalent to 400 USDT when 100 points equal 1 USDT.
The practical result is that a user's effective cashback stops improving after the cap is reached. A T5 user does not earn unlimited 8% value on every amount of spending; the monthly cap sets the ceiling.
Points add one more step
Gate says points can be redeemed for assets such as USDT or GT, and newer announcements expand redemption choices. That is useful, but it is still a separate step from spending.
The reward is only realized after points are credited and redeemed. If the redemption asset changes in value, or if the user never redeems points, the cashback headline is not the same as cash returned instantly.
The rewards make sense on spending that was already planned
Gate Card rewards make the most sense for eligible spending that would happen anyway and stays inside the monthly cap. They make less sense as a reason to create extra spending. Conversion and FX fees can eat into the net benefit, especially on cross-border or small transactions.
The clean way to read Gate Card cashback is not "up to 8%" by itself. It is rate, tier requirement, monthly cap, transaction cap, redemption asset and transaction cost together.
